At the 2026 Paris Motor Show, Alfa Romeo unveiled the Cuorerosso and offered a glimpse of how its future cars might look. The low-slung coupe mixes classic Italian proportions, a futuristic cockpit, and a proposed hybrid powertrain with a V6. To be clear — this is a concept, not a production model. Still, it shows what to expect from the brand next.

Design: Italian lines with supercar attitude
Cuorerosso draws on Alfa Romeo classics such as the 8C Competizione. A long hood, short overhangs, muscular proportions, and a sharply sculpted rear give it the stance of a modern Italian grand tourer.

Liquid Ink Red paint shifts with the light from bright red to nearly black. The signature triangular grille gets a futuristic treatment, while the round rear lamps add a retro note.

The big surprise is the rear-hinged back doors: they open the opposite way from conventional ones. Practical, dramatic, and exactly right for a concept that refuses to play it safe.

Interior: a cockpit built around the driver
The dashboard blends minimalism with technology drawn from Alfa Romeo’s racing heritage. The centerpiece is Cannocchiale Vivente, a modern take on the traditional twin-dial instrument cluster.

The displays physically reconfigure with the drive mode: in everyday driving they show more information; when the driver wants to focus on the road, the layout simplifies.
It is good to see Alfa keep physical controls instead of burying everything in a touchscreen.

Under the hood: a V6 with hybrid muscle
Alfa Romeo is exploring a 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 paired with a full hybrid system and Q4 all-wheel drive. The proposed layout also includes a torque-converter gearbox and a carbon-fiber prop shaft.
For a future sports Alfa, that is an intriguing mix: combustion-engine character plus the benefits of electrification. Steer-by-wire technology replaces the mechanical link between the steering wheel and the front wheels with electronic control.

An important caveat: this is a proposed technology direction, not final production specs. Alfa has not yet published power or performance figures for a road-going version.
Why not fully electric?
Alfa Romeo is moving toward a multi-energy strategy rather than an all-electric lineup. Depending on the model and market, future cars may use combustion engines, hybrids, plug-in hybrids, or fully electric powertrains.
Cuorerosso reflects that flexibility. A hybrid V6 would keep the sound and character enthusiasts associate with sporting Alfas, plus electric assist. The aim is to embrace new technology without losing the brand’s identity.
When can you buy one?
You cannot — and the car is unlikely to reach showrooms in this form. Cuorerosso is a design manifesto, and its influence will almost certainly spread through the future lineup, from sedans to crossovers. The concept’s design language, signature lighting, and driver-focused interiors are likely to appear in coming generations, though details such as the reverse-hinged doors will probably remain a show-stopping concept flourish.

The next generation of Alfa Romeo may also offer a wider choice of powertrains. For now, Cuorerosso makes one point clear: whatever sits under the hood, Alfas should remain unmistakably Italian.
